"Our grief is as individual as our lives." - Dr. Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

Grief Companionship

I welcome the opportunity to pause with you. To journey through grief together and be with your unique experience.

What is a grief companion?

My role is to be a spacious container for your experience and practice deep listening - being with what is showing up for you and remaining in the experience together. Grief can feel lonely. It expresses as a diverse range of emotions, feelings, sensations, and thoughts for each person. Our culture has modeled an expectation to grieve in a certain way and in a certain amount of time - my intention is to be a compassionate companion on this journey by empowering you to grieve at your own pace and in your own way, making space for your grief and your unique experience to move through you.

The sessions are different for everyone as I tailor the experience to your needs. Since grief comes in waves and is an ever changing shapeshifter, I attune to your needs to co-create each session in the present moment. I do not have specific programs because grief is complex, and we are diverse beings.  I believe that we each possess the innate wisdom to grieve. We will utilize specific approaches that I have learned along the way to support each soul’s natural path of grieving. These approaches include:

  • deep listening

  • meditation

  • breathwork

  • writing exercises

  • resource retrieval

  • Self-love

  • compassionate awareness

  • lucid dreaming

  • continuing bonds

How long will this take?

The two of us determine the length and frequency of each session at the beginning of our journey together. Sessions are at least one hour to allow spaciousness to drop in together.

How much is this investment?

The cost for a one hour session is $100. Please do not let resources be a barrier to getting support.

When can I start?

Now. In this moment. If you are in a safe space, breathe in deeply and take in a bit more air. When it feels like your lungs are full - hold it for a moment, then exhale slowly. Ask yourself, how do I feel? Am I curious about working with Chelsea? If it’s a yes or you are curious, email me at chelsea@chelseawaves.com or call me at (805) 702-7104.

I would love to hear from you. We'll explore if it's in alignment for us to walk alongside each other on this journey.
